NJHS Students Exemplify the Spirit of Service
The Nellie McCoy chapter of the National Junior Honor Society exemplifies the spirit of service within our school community. Recently, members spent several hours on a Saturday morning enhancing the campus environment by planting vibrant flowers around the school marquee. This welcoming and visually appealing beautification project was planned and organized by Michelle Schriefer, the parent of a chapter member. Service, character, citizenship, scholarship, and leadership are the foundational tenets of NJHS.Â
Looking ahead, the NJHS chapter is preparing for its next initiative—a clothing and food drive to assist individuals and families in need. Albritton will be holding the Necessity Drive during December. The chapter will be collecting clothing, blankets, food, and toiletries. They will also be collecting new packages of cookies and sweet treats as part of Operation Cookie Drop here at Fort Bragg. Items will be collected by the seminar (B4) class period. The class that collected the most will win a prize. These projects reflect the club’s ongoing commitment to fostering empathy and supporting those facing challenges.Â
Throughout the year, NJHS students volunteer as peer tutors, clean out the Bulldog Lost & Found, serve as ushers and ambassadors at events, and support the school in countless other ways. Through these efforts, the Albritton NJHS chapter demonstrates that meaningful change begins with simple acts of kindness. Their dedication serves as an inspiration for all members of our school community to engage in service and make a positive impact.
