Albritton Students Succeed via AVID

The AVID, Study Skills, and Yearbook classes engaged in teambuilding activities given by personnel from the Ready and Resilient Performance Center. Activities included analyzing how to utilize effective communication to collaborate with others to problem solve. Students reflected after each activity and made connections to the 3 Cs, CLEAR, CONFIDENT, AND CONTROL.

SAAM Art Contest: Exploring the Senses

SAAM art contest announced: Using a medium of your choice (drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photo, video, audio, performance, etc.) make an artwork that explores one of the five senses from your perspective. You may choose to focus on one element of your daily routine, or you may imagine what it would be like to experience your surroundings using only one of the five senses. There’s no right or wrong approach!

AMS Family Night March 2025

Come to Albritton after hours to shop the book fair during our AMS Family Night event from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. This fun afternoon will feature activities in the gym and information center including games, prizes, concessions, and everyone's favorite: THUNDERBALL! Music in Our Schools Month

DoDEA joins the National Association for Music Education and schools across the nation in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) in March. The purpose of recognizing MIOSM in DoDEA is to highlight and advocate for music programs in our schools.

National Reading Month

DoDEA joins the National Education Association and schools across the nation in celebrating Read Across America on March 2nd and all year long to help motivate kids to read, bring the joys of reading to students of all ages, and make all children feel valued and welcome.

DoDEA Americas Announces Ken Robinson as CTE ISS

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Americas is pleased to announce Ken Robinson as the new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS).

Jennifer Hegseth, spouse of the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, was joined by Angela Abernathy, spouse of Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Abernathy, U.S. European Command senior enlisted leader, and Amy Fulford, spouse of Lt. Gen. Robert Fulford, deputy commander of U.S. European Command on a tour of three DoDEA schools in Europe.

Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, spouse of the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, was joined by Angela Abernathy, spouse of Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Abernathy, U.S. European Command senior enlisted leader, and Amy Fulford, spouse of Lt. Gen. Robert Fulford, deputy commander of U.S. European Command on a tour of three DoDEA schools in Europe: Patch Elementary, Brussels Unit School, and SHAPE Elementary. They were accompanied by DoDEA Director Dr. Beth Schiavino-Narvaez and DoDEA Europe Director for Student Excellence Dr. Michelle Howard-Brahaney.

Nominations for the Educator of Promise Award will be accepted until March 28, 2025.

Arrival Dismissal Procedures

Arrival Procedures

Students may not arrive at school before 7:45 a.m. unless they participate in the breakfast program.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Students who eat breakfast may arrive at 7:30 a.m. and will go directly to the cafeteria upon their arrival.
Children arriving after 7:53 am are tardy and must be accompanied by a parent and report to the office for a pass.

Car Riders

Please use the school's designated drop off and pick up areas.
Parents who need to enter the building should park in the parking lot.
All unloading and loading of students must occur from the passenger side of the vehicle for safety reasons.
NC law prohibits cars from stopping in the crosswalk.
Parents of tardy students arriving by car should park in the parking lot before escorting their child inside the building to be signed in.

Walkers

For safety and security purposes as well as inclement weather concerns, all walking students will enter and exit through the designated entrances.
The Fort Bragg Home Alone Policy states that all students fourth grade and under have to be under direct supervision of an adult at all times. For more information on this policy, parents may call the U. S. Army Child and Youth Services office at (910) 396-8110.

Pets

For safety and security purposes pets of any form are not allowed on campus or in our schools during arrival and dismissal times.
