Albritton Back-to-School Information for Parents

Albritton Middle School has been diligently preparing over the summer to welcome your child/children on Monday, August 19, 2024. Students will receive a printed schedule on the first day of school. Parents, we know many students are nervous about their first day back. Please be assured that we have built extra supports into the beginning of the school year. For the first two weeks, students will attend a morning session to transition them successfully. There will be special activities including opportunities for team-building experiences. Furthermore, additional staff will be available to direct new students to the classrooms.  We are thrilled to guide them on their educational journey.

 

Please plan to pick up your child’s technology equipment and attend our Open House. We can’t wait to see you!

STUDENT SCHEDULES 
When: Wednesday, August 14, 2024

Time Available Online: 4:00 p.m.

Where: https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/

What to Expect: Please see the attached document for instructions on logging into Aspen to access your student’s schedule. Keep in mind that student schedules may change within the first two weeks of school. 

 

BUS SCHEDULES 
What to Expect: Parents, if your student is eligible to ride the bus, you will receive an email with detailed information about bus transportation later this week.

 

TECHNOLOGY DISTRIBUTION 
When:  Thursday, August 15, 2024

Time for Pickup:   8:30 am – 2:30pm

Where: Albritton Middle School Cafeteria

What to Expect: For the 2024-2025 school year, every Albritton Middle School student will receive a laptop to support their learning. To facilitate this, we are scheduling a “Technology Distribution” during lunch periods to give parents time to pickup laptops. These sessions will allow parents and students to sign the necessary forms to issue DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) equipment. Parents can pick up one laptop for each Albritton Middle School child in their family for the 2024-2025 school year. Collecting this asset early ensures that every student will have the technology needed for instruction on the first day of school.

 

To receive the school equipment, the sponsor or spouse (parent or legal guardian) will need to sign for the property, and the student, parent, or sponsor must also sign an internet agreement. Sample forms are attached for you to preview before distribution day. The forms you receive on distribution day will have the asset number for the equipment, along with the sponsor and student names already formatted. You will need to verify asset numbers and names before signing the document. Before leaving campus on August 15, 2024, you will receive a copy of the signed forms and the equipment. The barcode information affixed to the technology must always remain on the equipment.

 

Please find a parking space at the front of the school, enter through the main entrance, and proceed to the cafeteria to complete the paperwork. If you have any questions about the distribution of technology, please contact Mr. Negron, Albritton Middle School’s SSA, at george.negron@dodea.edu.

 

OPEN HOUSE for ALL STUDENTS 

When:  Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4pm-6pm

Where:  Albritton MS Gym

What to Expect: Open House provides Albritton Middle School parents with the opportunity to meet and greet our educators and tour the campus. We encourage you to take time out of your busy evening to attend this event.  Be thinking about one wish you have for your child this school year and what motivates your child to give his or her very best effort.  You will have an opportunity to privately share your response to these questions with Albritton educators.
