It is the end of an era: Dr. James Kuczero, a music teacher at Albritton for over 36 years, has retired.

Dr. Kuczero taught guitar, piano, beginning band, intermediate band, and advanced band to middle school students for four decades. Each year, he coached students to earn spots in All-County and All-District Honor Bands, including two students this year. He has taught the children of his former students. He is a legend whose influence knows no bounds.

On his last day at Albritton, the staff held a farewell breakfast for Dr. Kuczero featuring food, yearbook photos highlighting his career at Albritton, and heartfelt appreciation for his dedication to his craft. The Albritton Sunshine Committee presented him with a retirement gift, and the Albritton PTSA presented him with a customized plaque.

Just before exiting the school that afternoon, Dr. Kuczero sent an email to the staff, "Thanks everyone! Elvis has left the building!"

Dr. Kuczero is already missed. At the most recent school pep rally, his former band students took it upon themselves to perform two songs in his honor. They played beautifully.
