The AVID, Study Skills, and Yearbook classes engaged in teambuilding activities given by personnel from the Ready and Resilient Performance Center. Activities included analyzing how to utilize effective communication to collaborate with others to problem solve.  Students reflected after each activity and made connections to the 3 Cs, CLEAR, CONFIDENT, AND CONTROL.

Special thanks to our partners from the Ready and Resilient Performance Center, Jacques Tucker, Savanna Jeli, and Ajala Baker. Also, thanks to Mrs. Iris Pierce, our School Liaison.

AVID students learn goal setting, study skills, and presentation techniques through learning strategies such as Core Groups, Peer Reflections, and Socratic Seminars. Students explore potential careers and colleges in fun and engaging ways. For example, Dr. Hardy often invites guest instructors into her classroom or takes students on study trips to nearby colleges and universities. Don't be fooled by all the activities taking place; AVID features a strong literacy component and rigorous learning standards.

AVID is offered at all 18 DoDEA Middle and High Schools. Consider AVID when registering for courses for next year!
