Applications are now available for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at Albritton Middle School. NJHS offers students a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills, engage in community service, and excel academically. As members, students are recognized for their commitment to scholarship, character, citizenship, and service. Applications to the Nellie McCoy Chapter at Albritton are evaluated by a faculty council based on the NJHS core values of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service, and character. Additionally:Â
- To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at Albritton Middle School.
- Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be in the second semester of sixth grade or members of the seventh or eighth grade class.
- Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Applications are also available in the front office or in room E-11 from Ms. Vassey, chapter adviser. Students should complete the application packet and return it to Ms. Vassey by February 10, 2025. In addition to completing the application, students should request two teacher recommendations as soon as possible (teachers will give the recommendations directly to Ms. Vassey).
