April 4 is National School Librarian Day, the perfect opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of Melissa Davis, the information specialist, and David Feliciano, the media clerk, at Albritton Middle School. Their dedication, hard work, and welcoming demeanors have transformed the Albritton information center into an exciting hub of learning.
Melissa Davis: The Heart of the Library
Melissa Davis, the school's information specialist, is more than just a librarian. She is a cornerstone of the academic community at Albritton Middle School. Her role involves curating a collection of books and digital resources that support the curriculum and fostering a love of reading among students. She regularly invites authors and guest speakers to present to Albritton both in person and virtually. Mrs. Davis’s efforts ensure that students have access to the information they need to succeed academically and develop critical thinking skills.
Mrs. Davis also collaborates with teachers to design and implement instructional strategies that integrate information literacy into the classroom. Her expertise helps students navigate the vast world of information, teaching them how to evaluate sources and use information ethically and effectively. Mrs. Davis’s passion for literacy and learning creates an environment where students are encouraged to explore, inquire, and grow.
