Info from the IC--Nov. 2024
Starting the 2nd quarter, we kicked off the “Travel with eBooks Challenge,” a collaborative initiative involving Shughart MS, Antilles MS, Brewster MS, and our school. The aim of this challenge is to boost eBook usage among all participating schools.
In October, we also held the Scary Story Contest, which saw an impressive participation of 232 students. The results are as follows:
- 1st Place: 52 Votes – “The Haunting of the Skibidi Toilet” by Logan and Tucker
- 2nd Place: 29 Votes – “Butter Fingers” by Braxton
- 3rd Place: 21 Votes – “Human Cupcakes” by Kassidi
Additionally, Dr. Hardy’s AVID class is currently exploring various college and career topics. They are utilizing the library to research different careers, the necessary education and training, and the schools that offer these programs. Their first research topic focused on the fashion industry, and a bulletin board has been created to showcase their findings.
On Oct. 28th, we had seven middle grade authors who write “spooky” stories present virtually throughout the day. They shared their spooky stories, their writing process and answered questions. The authors were : Darcy Marks, Samantha M Clark, Mary Averling, Laura Parnum, Rochelle Hassan, Marina Cohen, and Ally Russell. It was a huge success with the students.
