Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. The good news is we can build healthy habits now to protect our hearts for a lifetime.
Get Enough Sleep ● Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep a night. ● Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. ● Exercise regularly, but not within 2-3 hours before bedtime.
Eat Better ● Limit salt, sugar and saturated fats. ●Choose fruits, rice cakes, yogurt, or raw vegetables as snacks.
Be More Active ● Kids should aim for about 60 minutes of physical activity a day, and adults about 30 minutes a day.
Manage Stress ● Use deep breathing and focused relaxation to calm the mind and body. ● Connect with family and friends, laugh and play each day.
Go Red on Valentine’s Day 2/14/25 to support heart health.
