Student Schedules

Every student will be scheduled for ELA, Math, Social Studies, PE, and Science according to their grade level. Some students may have different class assignments based on individual needs. To balance classes, we are adjusting student schedules and doing our best to honor elective choices as much as possible. Thank you for your patience as we complete this task.

Student Arrival to School

Walkers and car riders should not arrive on campus before 7:45 am and must enter the building near the car rider line by bridge. Currently, several students are arriving before 7:45 am and gathering on the bridge and near the bus area. School staff begin duty at 7:45 am, and we want to ensure students are supervised during this time. Therefore, we need your assistance to ensure your child/children arrive no earlier than 7:45 am.

Students purchasing breakfast from the cafeteria can arrive at 7:35 am and go directly to the cafeteria. Students cannot wait outside the bus area for the school day to begin. Adult supervision is available in the cafeteria to assist students who may need support while eating breakfast.

Please discuss with your child/children the importance of arriving at the appropriate time and entering campus near the car rider line by the bridge. Students should not be dropped off in the staff parking lot or enter near the bus area, unless they are eating a meal from the cafeteria.

Thank you for your support with student arrival procedures.

Parking

Parents are welcome to visit Albritton, but we ask that you please use the lots circled in green on the map to the right. The visitor lot in front of the main office and the staff overflow lot are perfectly fine for parking. During the school day, some activities take place in the bus parking lot near the cafeteria and the side lot adjacent to the gym. As a safety precaution, we ask that staff and visitors refrain from using these lots until well after the buses have left at the end of the day.

With the fall sports season beginning, we would also like to remind parents of the safety hazard of parking in the parent pickup lanes by the track. Please review this video for more information.

Thank you for your support with these safety procedures.

News from the nurse

* 6th Grade Immunizations:

Two immunizations are required for all 6th graders: Tdap and meningococcal. Half of our sixth graders do not have proof of these immunizations at school. Please provide proof of your student’s immunizations by 9/19/24. Emails have been sent to all families of those who need these immunizations. Immunizations may be obtained at your clinic or at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health. Please let me know if you have questions about your child’s immunization status.

*Sports Tryouts and Sports Physicals:

Sports tryouts will soon begin. All students who tryout must have a current sports physical (less than a year old) on file to tryout. The DoDEA sport’s physical form is linked to the left, but we will accept any current sports physical. Please reach out to the nurse if you are unsure of the status of your student’s physical. Physicals may be obtained at your clinic or at an Urgent Care.

*Medications

Students are not permitted to carry medication at school, even over the counter medication such as Tylenol, without a physician’s prescription and parent permission. If your child needs medicine at school, please visit the Health Services page to complete the appropriate medication form.

Yours in good health,

Nurse Lopez
