Bulldog K.I.T.
Club Information
Robotics Club:Â Students will collaborate to build and program a variety of robots using materials from a variety of sources such as Lego, Tetrix, and REV robotics. Robotics Club students will improve their science, engineering, technology, and presentation skills while learning how to think creatively and problem-solve. Robotics Club members may have the opportunity to compete in robotics competitions.Â
Robotics Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:10 in room C-29. Students who are interested in robotics should complete this form. Parents should also complete this Permission Form in order for their student to be able to stay after school for Robotics Club.
Student Council:Â We are excited to announce that the AMS Student Government is now accepting applications for new representatives! This is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a difference in our school community, develop leadership skills, and represent your fellow students. Our Student Government aims to represent the student body in a variety of ways and be the voice of the students. We will achieve this by allowing students to vote, suggest ideas, voice their opinions, and participate in various activities.
Interested students should fill out an application form and obtain a teacher recommendation. Forms are available from Dr. Belzic in room E21. Applications are due by September 13.Â
BNN:Â The Bulldog News Network, a student-produced broadcast, is an enrichment program available for Albritton Middle School students. Students may participate on camera or behind the scenes as writers, creators, or equipment operators. Through BNN, students will learn skills in photo- and video-editing, graphic design, and public speaking. For 2024-2025, BNN will be recorded during the Bulldog Power Hours on Wednesdays. Selected students will participate in small groups for approximately three-week cycles. Groups will be rotated in order to maximize this opportunity for interested students.
Students should apply using this form (the form will only open from a student email account).Â
Afterschool Learning Center:Â ASLC offers homework help, tutoring, time to work on projects with peers, and quiet time to complete assignments. This resource is available to students in all grades on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until 4:00 p.m. in Room C-6.Â
See Ms. Dennis or click here for parent permission slips.Â
After School Band Practice: Band students may stay after school to practice their instruments Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00 PM. Students who ride the bus will take the 4:10 bus home. This is not a time for lessons – just a time and place to practice and develop your skills. Any variations from this schedule will be announced. Â
Only students currently enrolled in a Band class may attend.Â
S.T.E.A.M. Challenge Engineering Club:Â Great News! The STEAM CHALLENGE CLUB is back this year! Do you enjoy constructing structures? Do you enjoy being challenged to solve problems and have fun doing that? Do you enjoy being creative? If you are in sports and would like to join, we can work with your schedule. Come see what this club is all about. If you are interested in joining , please see Ms. Luedtke or Ms. Poz-Rob for an application after September 10.Â
FIRST CLUB MEETING will be TUESDAY 24 September @ 3:15 til 4:00
National Junior Honor Society: NJHS members work to maintain their 3.5 GPA and continue to show excellence in the areas of Character, Citizenship, Service and Leadership throughout the school year. In the area of service, they must participate in 10 individual volunteer hours in addition to the group yearly projects. In the area of leadership, they will plan and implement projects to encourage the student body to get involved. They also have opportunities within the group projects to be leaders and show great citizenship and character. In the area of citizenship and character, they must also set a great example by following the school rules and procedures at all times. NJHS inducts new members in the spring. If you are new to Albritton, and you were a member of NJHS at your former school, please see Ms. Vassey in room E-11 to learn how to move your membership to the Albritton chapter.

SRP K12 2021 Parent Handout
DoDEA has adopted the Standard Response Protocol for emergency situations. This handout is an introduction to the SRP that provides parents with basic information about SRP. Click the links below to view the parent handout in full-size. More information is available from this website.Â
Bulldog Power Hour Assemblies
Ms. Fulton held assemblies with each grade level during our first Bulldog Power Hour sessions of the year. During the assemblies, Ms. Fulton reviewed the Standard Response Protocol system, the school handbook, the dress code, and Bulldog P.R.I.D.E. Students were also given the opportunity to provide feedback and interact during the sessions. Links to the handbook and dress code are provided.Â
Student Arrival to School
Walkers and car riders should not arrive on campus before 7:45 am and must enter the building near the car rider line by bridge. Currently, several students are arriving before 7:45 am and gathering on the bridge and near the bus area. School staff begin duty at 7:45 am, and we want to ensure students are supervised during this time. Therefore, we need your assistance to ensure your child/children arrive no earlier than 7:45 am.Â
Students purchasing breakfast from the cafeteria can arrive at 7:35 am and go directly to the cafeteria. Students cannot wait outside the bus area for the school day to begin. Adult supervision is available in the cafeteria to assist students who may need support while eating breakfast.Â
Please discuss with your child/children the importance of arriving at the appropriate time and entering campus near the car rider line by the bridge. Students should not be dropped off in the staff parking lot or enter near the bus area, unless they are eating a meal from the cafeteria.Â
Thank you for your support with student arrival procedures.Â
News from the nurse
* 6th Grade Immunizations:
Two immunizations are required for all 6th graders: Tdap and meningococcal. Half of our sixth graders do not have proof of these immunizations at school. Please provide proof of your student’s immunizations by 9/19/24. Emails have been sent to all families of those who need these immunizations. Immunizations may be obtained at your clinic or at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health. Please let me know if you have questions about your child’s immunization status.
*Sports Tryouts and Sports Physicals:
Sports tryouts began last week. All students who tryout must have a current sports physical (less than a year old) on file to tryout. The DoDEA sport’s physical form is linked to the left, but we will accept any current sports physical. Please reach out to the nurse if you are unsure of the status of your student’s physical. Physicals may be obtained at your clinic or at an Urgent Care.Â
*Medications
Students are not permitted to carry medication at school, even over the counter medication such as Tylenol, without a physician’s prescription and parent permission. If your child needs medicine at school, please visit the Health Services page to complete the appropriate medication form.Â
Yours in good health,
